1 1/4 Cups Flour
1 teaspoon Salt
2 Eggs
1/4 teaspoon Nutmeg
3 Slices Toasted white bread(cut into 1/2 inch cubes)

These are a side dish that go with pretty much every kind of roast.You can cut the leftover dumplings into slices and pan fry them.

  • 1 Pound Cooked Potatoes(best if cooked the day before)
  • 1 1/4 Cups Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1/4 teaspoon Nutmeg
  • 3 Slices Toasted white bread(cut into 1/2 inch cubes)

Zubereitung

  1. Cook the potatoes the day before.When you're ready to start on the dumpling just shred or mush the potatoes well.Then add flour,eggs,salt and the nutmeg.Knead the dough until smooth.Flour your hands so the dough won't stick to them.Take about a handful of dough stick 2-3 pieces of the toast cubes and stick them into the dough.Now make sure you form the dough around the toast into the shape of a ball.
  2. bring a big pot of salted water to a boil and reduce heat until it stops boiling.Put the potato dumplings gently in the water.Let them sit in the hot almost boiling water for about 10 -15min. Once they rise to the top they're done.
